Basilica Block Party is tomorrow, so I have to address the most important question on everyone's minds: what the hell do I wear? To keep it simple, I would say let's think about the main goal here: being comfortable and staying cool while looking cool.
Wear a hat: In both of my featured looks, and the dude look c/o my boyfriend, you will notice one common thread - a hat. It's hip and also shades you from the sun. #winning (Is that hashtag not a thing anymore? SORRY.)
If you're going to wear heels, wear a chunky block heel: Stiletto heels are a no-go for outdoor music festivals, unless you're okay with sinking them into grass/mud/dirt all day long, your call. These gladiators from PRIMP are perfect for the occasion - they're of-the-moment, but also super comfortable.
Dresses/Skirts/Croptops/Cut off shorts: My go-to for music festival dressing, because it's simple and gives what I like to call the best possible air conditioning clothing can provide. I pared down the black off-the-shoulder/cocktail dress with Converse chucks + wrapped a chambray button-up around my waist because a) that's cool now b) it gets chilly at night. As for the skirt, I went all out and paired it with blingy jewels and a striped top (don't be afraid to mix prints). The tea-length skirt was getting a bit too pretty for me, so I threw on the chunky gladiator heels to toughen up the look a bit.
Hope this inspires your look for Basilica Block Party - see you there!
(Also, can we just acknowledge the fact that I've graduated from backyard blogging into full-on front yard blogger?! Never mind the stares from the neighbors :D)
