Hi. I'm Davee.

Welcome to my blog where I document my adventures in style, travel + all things MPLS. Mantra: I'm a firm believer that life is better all the way turnt up (keyword: turnt). Fair warning: I have a tendency to recite rap lyrics as a form of verbal communication (see last sentence for reference).

Anyone that knows me, knows I do not work out and have not one bone of athleticism in me. Sure, sometimes I've been known to join the Ad League softball or bowling team, but let's be real - those teams don't require actual athletic talent, unless chugging down the most beers counts. As my old coworker once put it so eloquently, regarding my softball skills, "Davee is stylishly bad." (Keywords here: STYLISH.)

So on my quest to find a form of fitness that helped me feel good, physically and mentally, it was rewarding to finally find something that I truly actually enjoyed. That something you ask? SPIN. I first fell in love at a Soul Cycle class I took last spring in NYC while on vacation (my friends clearly do not know the meaning of vacationing). After that initial class, I understood the cult-following - and was so stoked when I got to re-live it via the Soul Cycle x Target Pop-Up series that came through Minneapolis.

Since SoulCycle doesn't have a brick & mortar here in Minneapolis (yet *fingers crossed*) - to get a very similar experience, I swear by Laura Robertson's class at The Firm. Whatever you get a chance to do, SoulCycle or spin w/Laura, my best tip is to pedal to the music and go the extra mile (who am I - an SC instructor?).  Who ever thought there would be a day I'd blog about fitness on here? #SpinForTheWin

Full disclosure: I am by no means a fitness expert, but as a person who has tried a million different things to get my workout ass in gear - I truly believe in spin. Wherein dance & step classes, I usually fumble my way through like a total klutz and where yoga is concerned, I find actually increases my overthinking tendencies, whereas spin releases me from all that. Also, since we're on the topic of disclosure: I don't actually spin in these shoes or that super expensive hand piece buttttt, I bet I could (say I won't!).
